A little History
BIO:
Sangre Gitana originated in 1997 through a youth program spearheaded by local artists such as Cesar Ivan, David Romo, and Stefan Schyga. They gathered a group of high school friends who were captivated by the enchanting sounds of Rumba Flamenca.
Initially known as AROSE is AROSE, the band later changed its name to ROSA BLANCA. However, they remained unsatisfied with the name until the year 2000 when the Gipsy Kings visited El Paso, TX.
During their encounter with the Gipsy Kings at the Camino Real Hotel, they had the opportunity to sit down with the lead singer, Nicolas Reyes. Upon asking for advice on naming their group, he suggested "SANGRE GITANA." He then ceremoniously declared, "I baptize you with the name SANGRE GITANA; you are now part of our family." From that moment on, the band embraced their new identity, and the rest, as they say, is history.
